Mixed Media of Cat | Gordon Laite

From my personal collection. Textural oil on canvas board with foil details by artist and illustrator Gordon Laite (1925-1978). Fantastic mixed media of pregnant feline. The image shows two kittens in her womb. On top of that you see a bird that she has recently eaten who had also recently eaten a grasshopper. All stomach contents as well as her eyes are foiled in gold and silver. Ornate gilt wood frame. The frame is in as-found condition, but is still so lovely.
