Architectural Scene On Canvas

Signed and date 1939. The color palette drew me in....rich, moody lavender and pale purple. The curve of the cobblestone street emerging from the foreground to an arched entryway. The canvas has seen some things. There are numerous patches and the painting overall shows signs of wear. But that makes it all the more beautiful. Stretched oil on canvas.
