Fraktur, a form of Pennsylvania German folk art, is a decorative writing style that was prominent between 1750-1860 particularly among German-speaking immigrants in the American colonies. Fraktur was used to document births and baptisms like this hand colored document which is certifying a baby's baptism in 1829. Framed under glass.
