Ciulla's works were driven by depicting ancient mythology thru a contemporary lens. This particular piece depicts a crocodile sitting above a wheat bunch. The crocodile could possibly be Sobek, the Egyptian god of fertility and agriculture among other things. He is perched on top of the wheat as a symbol of protecting the crop.
